How to open your Drobe
Everything runs from the control plate on the leather handlebar: one button, one slider and a three-dial lock. Learn the two modes and the plate first, then follow the steps to open, close and lock your Drobe.
Two modes
The slider decides what the button releases
Check the padlock in the slider window before you press. Red and closed: Handle control. Green and open: Suitcase control.
Handle control
Slider to the left
- The button releases the telescopic handle. Pull it up to roll, push it down to store.
- The sections stay where they are.
- With the dials turned away from your code, the slider is locked here.
Suitcase control
Slider to the right
- The button releases the wardrobe, but only with the handle down. Lift the handlebar to raise the sections into levels, or let them down to close.
- Once the handle is part way up (step C), it lets the handle go to full height for hanging.
- With the handle at full height, it releases the lock holding the lid, which pops up (step D).
- You can only slide here when the dials show your code.
Two rules
Handle down to open the wardrobe.
It cannot open with the handle up.
Handle at full height and Suitcase control, then press the button to open the lid.
The lid stays shut while the handle is down.
To close, go in reverse: shut the lid, lower the handle, then close the wardrobe.

Step by step
From setting your code to ready for travel
Set your code
Start with the dials on your current code.
- 1Flip the pin from OFF to SET.
- 2Turn the dials to your new code.
- 3Flip the pin back to OFF.
- 4Your code is set. Remember it.
Open your wardrobe
The handle must be down and the dials must show your code. If the handle is up, press the button on Handle control and push it down first.
- 1Slide to Suitcase control.
- 2Press and hold the button.Suitcase control
- 3Keep the handle down and lift by the handlebar. The sections rise.
- 4Listen for the click. Check both sides are locked.
Raise the handle for hanging
With the wardrobe open. You also need this to open the lid.
- 1Slide to Handle control.
- 2Press the button and lift the handle. It stops part way.Handle control
- 3Slide to Suitcase control and press again.
- 4Raise the handle to full height.Suitcase control
The lid
The top section has its own lid. It only opens with the handle at full height and the slider on Suitcase control.
- 1With the handle at full height, slide to Suitcase control.
- 2Press the button to release the lid lock. The lid pops up.Suitcase control
- 3Open it fully by hand.
- 4Press it down until it clicks shut.
Close your wardrobe
Back to cabin size.
- 1Shut the lid. Slide to Handle control, press the button and push the handle down.Handle control
- 2Slide to Suitcase control.
- 3Lift slightly to take the weight off.
- 4Keep it lifted and press the button. Both sides go down together.Suitcase control
- 5Press both handle ends down until it clicks.
If only one side goes down, stop and try again. No force is needed. Lift slightly, press the button and let both sides go down together.
Lock it
Before you travel.
- 1Slide to Handle control.
- 2Turn the dials away from your code.
- 3Locked. The slider cannot move to Suitcase control.
Ready for travel
Wardrobe closed and locked.

- 2Pull the handle up and go.
